PARIS – France’s Aravane Rezai moved up 18 places in the latest WTA rankings released yesterday after her victory at the weekend in the Bali Tournament of Champions.
Rezai claimed her second career trophy with a 7-5 win as fellow Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli quit with a thigh injury after the first set on Sunday. Rezai moves up to a career-high world number 26.
Beaten finalist and French No 1 Bartoli overtakes Italy’s Flavia Pennetta to end the year as number 11.
