Muller, 19, from Roodepoort, is fresh from a first-round knockout of Sean Santana. That terrible KO, which prompted Boxing SA to revoke Santana’s licence, was Muller’s fourth from as many fights.

Santana, 32, had ended the career of Sebastiaan Rothmann, the former SA, WBU and IBO titlist, last year. At that time, Santana was a novice of two wins and a defeat while Rothmann had 18 wins (12 KOs) and six losses.

Muller has fought only two full rounds since he turned pro in April. At least Sheldon Human and Kali Kelembe saw the beginning of the second round, though they did not see it end, while Robbie Lombard and Santana did not see the second round.

Muller fights Ndzamela, a capable boxer who lacks confidence. The East Londoner has an uninspiring CV after registering one win against five losses, all KOs.

Ndzamela blasted Zakhele Thembe in two rounds in July last year but was in turn knocked out in three rounds two months later by Reuben Groenewald.

Peet Bothma, Muller’s trainer, is approaching the fight with caution, arguing that “one punch can change the complexion of any fight”.

Bothma said of Ndzamela: “He is very tall and fights well. I expect a tough fight but Johnny will win.”

The six-rounder between Muller and Ndzamela will top an eight- bout Seconds Out Promotions programme. This will be the second tournament to be promoted by Andre Kerr . Admission is R50 and the action begins at 7.30pm.
