These producers have built their brands from producing music in their backyards. Today their music sound has tapped into international dance music level.
They have rubbed shoulders and produced music with top dogs like legendary musician DJ Oskido, Black Coffee, Vini Da Vinci, afro pop group Mafikizolo, Vetkuk vs Mahoota, Louie Vega, DJ Rocco and more.
These young boys don’t only produce but make classic remixes of various popular songs using their own style. They are currently making talks on national radio stations and even playing their music in other African countries.
- Black Motions, a house music duo originating from Kalawa Jazzmee turning the house industry upside down with their drum and bass beats. This duo is making a serious buzz with their constant compilation of hits receiving airplay across the globe. Barely years in the industry - and they have produced songs that lighten up the dance floor. Their popular songs include ‘Bhana Shilolo', ‘Banane Mavoko', ‘Set Me Free' and their current massive single ‘Lazy Song’.
- YFM’s DJ Shimza is one of SA’s biggest house music producer and DJ who is cultivating the music scene. He produced the popular hit single ‘I’ll be back’. He started his music career at the Soul Candi Academy. He has released two cd compilations titled ‘SA House Chart’ and ‘Next Big Thing’ which are currently dominating nightclubs.
- Pex Africah is a Soweto born producer and DJ. For more than seven years they used social media to promote his tribal and afro sound. He now airplays internationally and is currently signed under the biggest local mzansi record stables, Kalawa Jazmee. Pex Africah together with DJ Micks last year released a debut album titled Kalawa Jazmee Dance. He has made hits such as 'Samatapayapa', 'I wanna' featuring Busiswa. Has also produced beats for kwatio singer Proffessor, Oskido, Kabelo Mabalane and Mandla Spikiri.
- Da Capo is a 22 year old music producer and DJ on the rise from Limpopo. This young fellow who is currently studying is a hit maker of spiritual moving dance music. With barely years of experience in the industry, his music blows well respected dj’s such as Fresh and Nick holder away. His string of hits includes a remix of Moneoa’s song ‘Pretty Disaster’, Rocco and Zaki Ibrahim.
- Infinite Boys is a house music duo, Raphael and Antony Mabaso. Their production skill is impeccable and results are evident in their debut album titled ‘The Beginnings’ released in 2010. Signed to Kalawa Jazzmee the duo’s hit single ‘Zulu Tribe (Hi Nyikeni)’ made it big in club scenes.
- Heavy K (The Drumboss) is a producer as well as DJ signed to Soul Candi Records, has a debut album released called Drumboss. He also belongs to a Port Elizabeth heavy group ‘ Point 5’. They produced kwaito star Professor’s hit song ‘Lento’ and remixed the late queen of modern Zulu music, Busi Mhlongo’s hit ‘Isizwe’.
- DJ Fresca is a Soweto born house music producer and DJ determined in ensuring that local music is recognized internationally. He produced the popular track Amaphoyisa together with Black motions and his first hit single ‘ Int'engekhoyo’ earned him recognition in the house music industry.
- DJ Micks is a Durban born producer and DJ who has musically touched base with a lot of artists producing beats for them. He has currently contributed in the production of kwaito star Professor’s latest album. He also engineered his debute album titled Kalawa Jazmee dance together with Pex Africah. His popular hits such as ‘Over the Rainbow’, ‘Magical’ and ‘Kop Toe’ are currently dance floor setters.
- Silly M is a Soweto born producer and DJ with a wide selection of style and sound. With two years working on his production, his compilation of hits have been featured on popular DJ’s albums such as DJ Zinhle and Mo Flava and Mac G.
- Trio group Uhuru is a compilation of young and upcoming producers discovered by Kalawa Jazmee. The threesomes are passionate producers who love to fuse African sound into their music. They have produced hit tracks such as Mafikizolo’s current popular track Khona and even working alongside Louie Vega.
