MEMBERS of the Wildebeesfontein Community Organisation yesterday marched to the Sebokeng magistrate's court in protest against what they termed "illegal" evictions in the Vaal area.

MEMBERS of the Wildebeesfontein Community Organisation yesterday marched to the Sebokeng magistrate's court in protest against what they termed "illegal" evictions in the Vaal area.

The organisation's chairperson Solomon Mthwalo said they were calling on municipalities "to refrain from allowing the sheriff of the court to unlawfully evict our members from their houses".

Sedibeng mayor Simon Mofokeng and Gauteng housing department's Aviva Manqa accepted the memorandum on behalf of the government. Manqa said they would hand over the memoto relevant authorities. - Ntwaagae Seleka
