KWAZULU-Natal finance MEC Ina Cronjé said research has shown that countries where families, businesses and governments did not save enough suffered severely during economic meltdowns.
Cronjé was speaking at Osizweni in northern KwaZulu-Natal as part of treasury's financial literacy campaign. She challenged businesses as well as households in the area to get out of their debt traps and start saving.
