Baroka defender Elliot Seema is looking forward to going back to his club where he wants to fight for a place in the starting line-up.

The 27-year-old , who was part of the Swallows FC GladAfrica Championship team that gained promotion to the Premier Soccer League, is wanted back in Limpopo after his loan spell at the Soweto side . The former captain of Tshwane University of Technology’s varsity football-winning team played 15 matches for Swallows, helping them clinch the second division title.

Baroka coach Dylan Kerr decided to recall the hard-tackling central defender who scored two goals for Swallows. He has been awarded a three-year contract with the Limpopo club.

“My loan to Swallows made me work hard and force the move back to Baroka. I want to fight for a place in the team and impress the technical team,” said Seema. He has already reported to the preseason training camp.

Seema is also looking forward to the bonuses that were promised to the Swallows players after they clinched the league title.

“I can’t wait for my bonus. We worked hard to help the team to gain promotion. I’m not leaving Swallows empty-handed. I’m leaving them with a league winner's medal and a bonus,” said Seema, who lost his parents at the age of three.

The soft-spoken defender said that Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos is his football idol. He said he was over the moon when he watched Baroka hold Kaizer Chiefs to a 1-1 draw on the final day of the season to retain their league status.

“I would have gone back to the NFD if they lost the game because I have the experience of playing there. I’m happy that I will remain in the PSL next season,” added Seema.
