Former Bidvest Wits defender Keegan Ritchie remains optimistic that he will find a new team soon.
Ritchie, who is a free agent after his contract with now-defunct Wits ended, is currently training with Swallows FC as he hopes to impress their technical team to earn a contract.
The 30-year-old said he had not started negotiating with anyone yet, but that he was available for any team that would be keen to use his services.
“At the moment I don’t have a contract anywhere and I’m just waiting to receive offers from different clubs so I can make my decision,” Ritchie told Sowetan.
“So that’s basically what I’m waiting for whether it is from TTM (Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila) or whoever, I’m just waiting to receive offers and then I will make my decision further.”
Ritchie also said that TTM, a side that bought Wits status, once told him they were keen on keeping him but he has not heard anything since then.
“They said they were interested but I have not received an offer yet from the boss [ Masala Mulaudzi], so I’m not sure if they are still interested or busy negotiating,” Ritchie said.
“To be honest, anyone who is looking for a player of my ability ... I feel like I still have a lot left in me. I can contribute to most teams in the PSL.
“Whoever is interested in a player like me, I will be willing to negotiate a contract with the club. So no club, in particular, that’s where we stand at the moment.
"Right now I'm just training with Swallows and I’m still waiting for them to offer me something as well. So let’s see what happens.
“I have not received an offer from the club yet, and we will see how it goes but I have been training with them since the beginning of the week and hopefully, things will come right here.”
