Man who intervened in Menlopark Steers workers incident vows to pursue matter

Lebusa Dave Manaregane, a unionist from the South African Workers Union, intervened upon seeing Steers employees in Menlopark, Pretoria, performing gardening tasks while in uniform, a task outside their job description. The staff revealed that this practice had been ongoing for years, initiated by their manager without additional pay, and unrelated to cost issues. An investigation by Manaregane uncovered additional allegations of misconduct, prompting further inquiry, while Steers stated the gardening task was a temporary measure due to landlord maintenance delays, acknowledging it was against standard practice.
