LoveLife, as part of its Youth Entrepreneurship Programme, will provide computer training for 200 out-of-school youth to kick-start the year.
“In this technologically advanced world, it is imperative that young entrepreneurs be comfortable, agile and competent when it comes to the use of computers. ICT is at the heart of all thriving businesses in the modern world and can be what makes or breaks a business especially since most business activities are conducted electronically." said Peggy Pillay – Senior Manager for Business for Social Change at loveLife.
The training is provided through loveLife’s Business For Social Change Programme, in partnership with ABSA and it will be conducted by loveLife’s Alumni groundBREAKERs (youth peer-group trainers).
The Business For Social Change Programme is a collaboration between business and civil society which tackles the challenge of youth unemployment in SA.
Participants will learn about Office, Word, operating systems and email etiquette among other subjects. The training participants will then undergo a Business Modelling and Design Bootcamp from 1 February to 11 March in Johannesburg.
Training takes place from 18 to 29 January 2016 at nine loveLife Y- Centres (youth centres) in seven provinces around the country – Gauteng (Orange Farm); Northern Cape (Vryburg and Kimberley); Western Cape (Langa township); Eastern Cape (Mthata and Stuttertheim), Mpumalanga (Emalahleni), Free State (Kutloanong) and Kwa-Zulu Natal (Nongoma).
